Explore Sustainable Geotourism in Raja Ampat with WISE Trips
Discover how Raja Ampat, a UNESCO Global Geopark, is pioneering low-carbon geotourism implementation of the program initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf) is entitled WISE (Wonderful Indonesia Sustainable Experience) Trips.
This initiative, aligned with the Manokwari Declaration, integrates sustainable tourism practices to mitigate carbon emissions while preserving the region’s stunning marine biodiversity. Partnering with CarbonEthics, the program calculates and offsets tourism-related carbon footprints by encouraging eco-conscious actions like mangrove planting.
Through Geotrail Cruising the Sea of The Legend, visitors not only experience breathtaking landscapes but also actively contribute to climate change mitigation and local community empowerment, supporting 10 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
