The Raja Ampat Geopark is managed in a multi-stakeholder manner ; using penta-helix model involving five main sectors, namely :

  1. Local Government
  2. Academics
  3. Local Communities
  4. Business World
  5. Media

They all become a part of the management agency. So of course the Raja Ampat Geopark supports and influences sustainable development, development policies, and the strategy of the Raja Ampat Regency Government.

The Raja Ampat geopark divides the network of partnership into 8 clusters based on the program of activities compiled in the masterplan. Each partner who cooperates as a criterion, which will determine its role and function. Formally, the collaboration was marked by an MoU, as a form of understanding on the vision, mission, and goas of The Raja Ampat Geopark.

Cluster #1 

GEOTOURISM

are partners who can play a role in tourism – related activities, such as the development of tourist destinations – Geosites and Geopark institutions, such as special interest tour guides , tourism awareness groups, and tourist accommodation providers such as homestays, hotels, resorts, as well as restaurants.

Cluster #2 

CULTURE & EDUCATION

are partner who can play a role in activities related to conservation and cultural education, such as indigenous community groups, local and international foundations, and schools.

Cluster #3 

BIODIVERSITY

are partner who can play a role in activities related conservation and education of biodiversity, both terrestrial and marine ecosystems, such as government agencies and NGOs, Forest Farmers Groups.

Cluster #4 

GEOLOGY

are partner who can play a role in activities related to conservation and education of geological sites and disaster risk reduction, such as universities and research institutions.

Cluster #5 

ECONOMY

are partner who can play a role in activities related to regional economic growth and community development such as locals foundations, regionally – owned enterprises, cooperatives, and so on.

Cluster #6 

MARINE COORDINATION

are partner who can play a role in activities related to the effectiveness of the management of the Raja Ampat waters, such as NGOs and government agencies.

ENVIRONMENT

are partner who can play a role in activities related to climate change and environmental issues, such a local foundations and NGOs.

Cluster #8 

INFRASTRUCTURE AND INVESTMENT

are partners who can play a role in infrastructure – related activities and and geopark and geotourism activities support.
